Venting session

Hi everybody. I am having a rough week and just need to vent, especially to those who "feel my pain." My pain crises began on Tuesday morning. Both my arms are in a lot of pain. From my shoulders down to my wrists. Not sure why my body decided to have symmetrical pain, but that's the way it is this time. I couldn't tolerate it any longer so I went to the ER. sickle and pregnant...

i have sickle SS and i just found out i'm six weeks pregnant... i'm happy but i'm more worried seeing that two years a go i had a misscarriage... do u guys have any advise for me?

How dangerous is low haemoglobin?

Hi everyone. Hope we are all in good health. Please when dealing with blood levels,how low is terribly low. My HB is usually around 6.6 or my highest is 7 during the good times and i have a heavy body and 21. Pls guys i want to know if this is normal or is there some precautions i should take? Splendid christmas celebrations to all SC WARRIORS.

Help for my Studies

I have been living with sickle cell for many year in May this year i turned 21 years but i had never experienced the situation am in now am feeling body weakness. When i went to hospital for check up they made every test and they found that every thing was okay. I cannot write during lectures and i cannot also revise on my own yet we are heading to exams. my daughter

Dear All,

I am fairly new to this site. I joined because i have a daughter with sickle cell. she is 10 months old and has had one crisis. It wasn't too severe, we were admitted for one night and she had some iv and antiobiotics given to her aswell as some pain killers.

The role of the Trait

Good day SC family, I just wanted to ask a question pertaining to the Sickle Cell Trait. My question is: Does anyone with the trait or anyone who knows someone with the trait that has experienced symptoms of the disease? I have a son and a daughter both with the trait. Diet and Exercise

Hello SC Family: I wanted to get your option about diet and exercise. I am two years away from the big 40 and I have just started to gain weight. I am about 30lbs overweight which is a lot for me and my body. I use to weight 138lbs but now I am 168lbs. I want to lose some weight with exercise but my doctor advise me against it.
