Hi everybody!  Please help me enroll participants for the study on sickle cell trait football players. I am sure many people knows a sickle cell trait person who played in his youth!    I already got a participant from another site (inspire).  I still have not gotten a participant via this site.  Please help us!

Here is the information:

We are looking for former or current football players at any level (high school included) who are at least 18 years of age and who are sickle cell trait carriers. The purpose of the study is to determine why some carriers have health problems (some have died) associated with football training while others do not.  Our study is listed in the following  link: http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01891877?term=%22sickle+cell%...

Dear Iysha:  What a blessing that your daughter is doing so well!  Please, if any of your family's men played football in high school or college (or professional!), please encourage them to join the study on sickle cell trait in football players. https://www.facebook.com/sicklecell.carriers

Dear Monica: What a blessing!  Is any of your boys over 18 years of age?  We are recruiting participants for a study on sickle cell trait football players, but they have to be adults.  If you know anybody who used to play or anyone who is playing and is SCT, please encourage them to join the study at: https://www.facebook.com/sicklecell.carriers

Hallo am father of a two years boy and i thank God for my son and supportive wife and family. As i have been on a wheel chair because of the osteoarthritis of both hips and the fact that its rendering disabled to some extent i see the pain in their eyes although they encourage me in all that i can. Its hard but just handing in there

Happy to see this sub-group on the site. I am the mother of a 20 month old daughter diagnosed with SS . She has been doing pretty well so far (thank God!) she has had 2 minor incidents of dactylitis which lasted about 2 weeks each but other than that, she is a normal healthy, busy toddler.

I look forward to sharing with and supporting the other parents in this group.
