My daughter has the majority of her pain in her legs so it is hard for her to walk when she is in crisis. Does anyone else have this problem, it makes her life very difficult. Hello everybody,i have been going through alot of pain at my right leg,then it turned out that it is swollen.i dont know how to handle swollen leg,so i went to the hospital where i was admitted,infusion given,diclofenanc sodium inj administered but it is exactly 1 week and my leg is still swollen. What can i do? Am i having kidney failure or heart failure? Am i safe or in danger zone. God am just scared.

Building a tolerance to your pain meds is common with Sickle Cell, but something I'm only starting to notice in myself. Now my history with Sickle Cell isn't all too terrible compared to some. I was often sick as a child with frequent hospitalizations for pain crisis. I've had Acute 3x and been hospitalized with the flu and pneumonia often as well. I also had my gallbladder removed. So I really don't know what to say about the past few months and whats goin on with my sickle cell. I have never had this much happen to me in such a short span of time...on New year's eve the doctors told me that the knot on my hip was an abscess that was infected! ok...antibiotics and I'll be good is what I was thinking. I just came home from being in the hospital for 8 days. i feel much better now on a scale of 1 to 10 my pain level is about a 4 which is tolerable for me i am hardly ever completely pain free anymore. i can't remember the last time i was completely pain free but 4 or less i can deal with 8 or more for more than 24 hours straight and i need to go to the hospital especially since i take 160mgs of OxyContin twice a day plus 60mgs of OxyCodone for breakthrough pain as needed.
