We still Hope
Hello everybody,
Sorry I have being so away. Actually I think since I got pregnant with my second child I didn't had much time to sit and share some about us. My son is already 2 years and 9 months old, and as good as it can look, we can say we had have never any problems with him. He only had swelling on his foot and hand once, when he started teething, and despite his hgb level being always lower than 6g/dl he is a hyperactive little one. Yeah, we had a little girl back on Feb. 2010. She also has sickle cell anemia, and unlikely her brother, she was hospitalized in the same week she was turning 7 month. She had an acute splenic sequestration, and thankfully to my persistence in learn as much as I could about this disorder I was able to detect it yet at home, and once in the ER they knew exactly what was suppose to do. I gotta tell you all, ths was the scariest day of my life, and I'm glad that even in the middle of all that storm I was able to fight for my little baby life. So, at that afternoon she had her first and only, until now and unlikely the docs wishes, blood transfusion. She stays in the hospital for almost one week. OMG!!!!!!!
Right now everybody is doing wonderful. She is 15 mo. I still nursing her, and every day is a real battle to keep her in the same diet as her brother is, since he was 9mo old.
The best point is, against all the medical wishes, my kids are doing wonderfully well. My son got cold for the very first time at the age of 2 1/2 years, and it was so mild and last less than 2 days. It was even fun, because he didn't know how to blow his nose, lol. But I am blessed by the privilege of stay home with them, then we can control a little what they are exposed with. It is hard knowing that giving my background I could be out making money, but just to have my little ones happy and health I don't think all the money a Lawyer can make pay it. And they keep me busy!!!!!!
My son is already being educated in 2 languages: Portuguese and English, and right now is taking private violin classes!!!!!!
Here is my Little boy with 22 mo: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ajuGh5-gE8.
Baby girl is doing great. She follows her brother. She already can say several words, and guess what was they first word???? WATER!!!!!!! We give them water since they were born, and its play a big difference!!!!!
I hope everybody is doing well and lets see if I can keep you all updated about my little precious!!!!!!
I love this community and miss coming here every day to see how is everybody doing!!!!
May God keep us all in GOOOODDDD HEALTH!!!!!!!
