I blogged on my website http://1chanceonly-bigdaddy54.blogspot.com/ that Males with Sickle Cell are the silent majority. Go to my blogsite above and let me know whatyou think about it.
Very good blog you have Ronald. I hope you will be able to keep it up! I never realized that men with SCD are a silent majority...growing up in Nigeria, it seemed to me that the only people I knew had SCD were men...I didn't discover a woman with SCD until years after I had been conversing with the 2 guys that I knew had SCD. I haven't noticed this trend...maybe I've just been out of the loop or something...
Hello Ronald,
I visited your website and read your blog dated 7/14/09. I hope that you are out of the hospital by now. I know that you were admitted on Tuesday, but some of my admissions are short. I read your profile and I am happy to see that you had a career. I did at one time also. I think that I will now use the word retired when people ask me what I do for a living. I was also happy to hear that you are married and have a family. I wanted that, but have not achieved that. I was advised not to become pregnant due to the SCD. However, I have never married so therefore I really don't have the opportunity. If I got married in my thirties, I would have liked to have found a surrogate to carry my child. Now I am 42 years old so that is a an unfufilled dream.
May God Bless and Keep you in His Care until we chat again.
