Dear Ronald:  Thank you so very much for your blog.  Would you be able to put links to information on our study?  I am looking for sickle cell trait adult males who played or currently play football.  The purpose of the study is to determine if there are genetic differences between sickle cell trait players who have health problems and those who do not.  Since your blog emphasizes your experience as an affected male, you might have more of an audience than I have!  We have placed articles written about the study and interesting links here: https://www.facebook.com/pages/Sickle-cell-trait-carriers/542105535851253

If anybody is ready to enroll, please go here: https://www.facebook.com/sicklecell.carriers

Yes, I met Mary Brown when I volunteered...in 1998 or 1999? I was at the camp the year before they went to Paul Newman's camp...elevation was too high (I heard) and they had to go back to...Camarrilo? The camp experience was...um. unforgetable.
