How has living with sickle cell made an impact on your life?: Sickle cell has made an impact on my life because dealing with the pains and being hospitalized and having to get transfusions every months takes time out my life so I'm not able to work or do like want to. Also by being hospitalized I miss a lot of school and I would always be teased and never made friends and would often be behind on my school work and it was hard to keep my grades up.

Does any one have and tips on how to live independently are there and programs I could go to because I'm a single mother with sickle cell and it hard for me to work and still be able to pay medical bills with getting transfusions every month. Any suggestions?
