How has living with sickle cell made an impact on your life?
My husband and I adopted a baby boy who has sickle cell disease, SS. I am just trying to find out more about the disease and looking for support and people to talk to.

Hello. My husband and I just adopted our precious son, Markelle Isaiah, who has SCD, SS.  He's 3 weeks old, so he hasn't had any symptoms yet.   We didn't know much about SCD until Markelle joined our family, but we've done tons of research and get the basics of the disease.  More than anything I would love to connect with people who are actually living with SCD and tips from parents of SS children.  I'm feeling a little lost.  Thanks, Erika

Congrats and welcome, best thing you can ever do is love and support him, though things may get hard the love n support a parent can give their child will make the most difference in they'r life while living with SS. Learn and LISTEN all you can and remember that, an " I love you", a hug, kiss and I will always be here for you will stay with the child always. It helps give them Hope and sometimes when things are hard. That's all we have. Hope n Faith.
