I googled sickle cell support groups and sickle cell chat rooms/ sickle cell group chats and it was under sickle cell chat room

How has living with sickle cell made an impact on your life?

Sickle cell has made a positive and negative impact on my life. It has made a positive impact on my life my teaching me to be stronger and to appreciate things more and to understand that I'm no different than other people. Also to understand that life will come with so many obstacles that you have to push yourself to get through. It has impacted my life in a negative way by stripping me away from school at times, not being able to be as active as other people and having people think of me as handicap and disabled beyond my abilities.

What are you hoping to gain by joining the site?

* What I hope to gain by joining this site is people to turn to for advice other than family, friends , neighbors, and other people in my surroundings. Also to give advice and help and to make this a safe haven for other Sickle Cell Patients/ Sickle Cell Carriers. Make this like our own little family. :-)
