I haven't experienced this except in a usual crises, but I've heard a couple of other sickle cell warriors complaining of this. Sorry...maybe Dr. D will know.

I have experienced this type of pain when I was in elementary school. It was so bad that I couldn't walk. The pain would get worse with movement. I would find a comfortable spot to lay in and try not to move. I used a heating pad at home and in the hospital they applied moist heat.

they say when ur an adult ur not supposed to get pain in the hands and feet but it varies ...im 25 and still have pain everyday in my ankles lower legs and fingers and they swell up all the time just like when i was younger

im 32 and this fall i experienced some pain at toes level because of cold especialy at night.
