I am from Brasil, I do speak a couple of languages so forgive me If i have any gramatical errors here...
Actually I am from Argentina and I live in Brasil. My wife is from Brasil and has sickle cell).
I am always searching the net for any "solutions" to this problem. I found a drug from Benin (Africa) called VK500 which acts like Nicosan, but actually VK500 is not being produced at the moment (financial problems in Benin and Angola, which are the two countries who uses VK500).
Ok, I do not want for you to focuse on VK500....I want for you to search informations about Nicosan. It seems Nicosan also "resolves" the problems for the ones who have sickle cell. It is produced in Nigeria and comercialized in the US, how come you did not heard about it ? I have just found information about Nicosan, a week ago, but it exists since a couple of years ago already.
I really would appreciate for all those who suffer sickle cell and lives in the US (this drug is being used in the US), to look into these three sites:
1) http://sicklecellblog.blogspot.com/2008/08/hydroxyurea-vs-nicosan.html
PS: also...do not focuse on Hydroxyurea comments, just read all the posts there, then at last you will find my question, the one who has left the email address : ed_giribaldi@yahoo.com.ar, on 13th of April 2009)
2) http://www.mg.co.za/article/2008-07-01-nigerian-sicklecell-drug-mired-in-controversy
3) http://xechemnigeria.com/products.htm
I have "lost" two years talking with the angolan people about VK500 drug, but they cant even help themselves because all the financial problemas they have, without health infrastructure and so on.
Now that I have found Nicosan...being commercialized in the US..., I imagen then that if all of you start searching information about the Nicosan drug, about how to obtain it and so on (what happened with Xechem also?)...then we could get somewhere....
Thanks in advance, and please read the links I mentioned here above.
Regards: Eduardo, from Brasil.
I expect to receive comments from all of you !!!! (ed_giribaldi@yahoo.com.ar)
