How has living with sickle cell made an impact on your life?

I actually have the trait, though I don't know what type. I found this out after my Hysterectomy. Finding that out made it easier to deal with the surgery.

What are you hoping to gain by joining the site?

More insight than I do now. I researched the daylights out of the disease, but There's more. I also hope to gain some alliances in helping me fight for the rights of sickle cell patients in the ER's and clinics.
