So I know that if you want anything done right you have to do it yourself... (motto for control freaks) but i want to put that aside for one minute and ask a question....

is it wrong to think that hospitals/clinics (whoever you go to for health care) should contact you if you missed an appointment???

thing is i know we have to be on top of our health and have to be our own advocates but i remember when i was younger and had dental appointments the office would call to remind me that the appointment was the next day at when ever hour.

i can not for the life of me remember such calls for my doctor appointments, and not to down play the health of my teeth and gums, but i think it is important for me to come in to monitor my hemo numbers, to check on anything that is out of the ordinary...

so why not provide us with a reminder call about our appointments? especially when they are 3 or more months apart from each other?

maybe this is a bad venting session because i missed a clinic appointment that i didnt remember having because it was scheduled 3 months ago but i think i am more upset that now i have to call and try to set up a new appoinment that will probably be in another 3 months and i have not received any phone calls or letters about my missed appoinment.

i think i just want better care, and i hope that better insurance will provide that, so i am coping with my disappointments for now until i can do better... thank you for reading my vent... sorry to dump it but sometimes you ahve to let out what bugs you.
