We still Hope
Hi My name is Habeebat and I'm 15 (going on 16).
I've had sickle cell all my life, fortunately I haven't any problems and it hasn't really effected. Two days ago I was outside in a fire drill then the joint in my knee started to really hurt. I'm not sure if I am having a crisis because I have never had one before (so I don't know what to expect or how it feel). I would ask my family or a doctor but I don't want to scare them.
I searched online and I have most of the symptoms for a joint crises but I'm just not sure.

Hey,
I'm going through the same thing. Yes, It's a type of crises. There are actually 5 types but doctors will only check for 1. The ones in the Joint can not be identified by blood tests. I have had many doctors send me home saying everything is fine and I'm literally still in pain. Go to a doctor/hospital you can trust and just be honest. If you don't specify they usually won't check... atleast that's how it is in Florida.
