We still Hope
I am excited to share the good news with you all, my 6 year old daughter got a bone marrow transplant on 24th May 2012 and it was a success. Her big brother was the donor and he matched her 100%. We are so proud of him because he had to go through a lot himself while busy with studies. Don't get me wrong it is the most difficult treatment anyone could endure let alone a child.
She went through all the complications as stated in the text books but she fought through it all. She talks a lot about her painful experiences during the treatment at the same time she also feels blessed to have got the treatment and needs not worry about her health and aches anymore. We stood together as a family and just treated her. Her brothers were by her side each she spent in the hospital.
I could write a book about our experiences. With God at our side we feel we have travelled far now. She is soon going back to school. We wish many more children could be offered this precious treatment, I would recommend this treatment for people that suffer daily with crisis'. In my daughters case it was her only chance of survival. We are here to share our experiences with anyone out there that is about to undergo the same treatment. Having a little support from someone that has experienced it first hand could make it a little easier. Stay well and God bless!
