My night today was brief and I was having fond memories about my late sister who died on 22nd Jan. 2007 at 45, and I just thought why not share the poem you wrote her with your new friends: I want to share it with you all but before I do there is a little I want you to know about her as regards this poem:
She is very slow. Has a lot of faith in God; never worries. A skillful clothe designer. She wanted a miracle from God to change her SS to AA and I on the other hand always wanted to be an SS with a difference: reason, I said if God makes me AA I would be a different person rather let HIM give me the strength to live above my condition.

Pain Song
(Adieu Ifiemi)
I’ve learnt why you wove so carefully, gracefully
You were given a fragile yarn
To weave His temple curtains
I’ve learnt why your ambers glow so warmly, gently
If fiercer you would’ve charred everything
In this His beautiful Eden
How you knew which garb to wear
Is a grace I will still pray to Him for
I’ve chosen a cheetah’s stripe to compete
You took a simple tortoise shell to contrive
Mine gave me cramps each step I took
Yours a graceful gait I unwisely loathe
Each time we danced our fluted pain-song
But you’ve suddenly stopped dancing, Ifiemi
Leaving me all alone to cipher a perforated melody
You empathized too well and bop even better.
