the triage system is messed up. its basically first come first serve.

I know this sounds horrible, BUT my DOCTOR once told me " go to e.r crying screaming even if the pain isnt that bad" bc they cant have you out there disturbing workers or making a scene so they will take you back quickly! lol

Most of the time when I do need medical attention I really am bent over screaming and crying though! :(

Or ask the triage nurse to access your port/IV and start you with something since the wait is too long?!?! Be your own advocate if you are not being treated properly please go above and beyond to complain so we can make change to our health care systems!!!

Mondays are the worst...

Yea ER's suck its always first come first serve. Its best to go in the ambulance or just go to your local clinic to get sorted out. Lol or like amanda said go in there screaming and crying trust me that works every time

I use to have problems going to the ER all the time. The Dr would take forever went I was in pain and then they would blame me for having bad veins went they couldn’t get an IV in. I also had a few times were they refused to give me meds to treat my pain because they thought I was a druggy just looking for a fix. I would always come out of the ER or hospital with thousands of bruises all over my arms and legs. So what I did was get a clinical Note (protocol) from my SCD specialist Dr, and gave it to the hospital I go to. Now they know what to do when I come in for pain management or anything else.
