How has living with sickle cell made an impact on your life?: I have the trait but my wonderful son Corri had the full disease. I always had major crisis yet his spirit was always full of hope and joy. It was amazing to watch him. He suffered several heart attacks stroke enlarged heart bone infarcts pneumonia and so much more in his life but he was a fighter. He was so determined to help bring awareness to the world about sickle cell anemia. He wanted to start a foundation called the gift foundation dedicated to helping people like his self have a better quality of life. In April 2009 while sitting in his car waiting on someone he had an attempted robbery and a 17 year old boy shot and killed my sin. My son was a minister for the Lord and had big plans for life with sickle cell.
