saw mister Ade wedding video on IG decided to find out who he was but it was a private page so i clicked on linktr.we to see what he had packed and I saw sickle cell and went on to find more and found the site.
How has living with sickle cell made an impact on your life?
It slowed me down a bit when I found out about the liver issue but I have a motivation to keep moving so I still try to find production job to do. It changed my lifestyle sort of because I can't wear heals as such because of my joint. Thought I would have had more than 2 children but not possible. Got addicted to my pain medication but found a will to move above it. So I have learned strength, dependence on God and I look out for others living with sickle cell.
What are you hoping to gain by joining the site?
I hope to find better opportunity to help my life and other living with sickle cell.
My recent hospital visit got me thinking as I laid on the bed. The doctored where dragging about transfusing me or not. I decided to look back at when I was a child how my mum took care of me. On remembering I discharged myself and returned home.
I asked my husband to help me buy liver, eggs, vegetable and Milo. So everyday I ate liver, vegetables sauce, 1 boiled egg and a cup of beverage. In 2 weeks my PCV was back to 30% which is my steady state. This is my new meal and I should be far from blood transfusions.
