Hello everyone. I'm happy we can be able to discuss the struggles we face living with sickle cell. My questions to yall. Do you get depress often? I started having sickle cell crisis when I was 18 years old. Now I'm 28. I had my first panic attack when I was 20. I couldn't breathe and my heart was beating fast. ITS IS WOUNDERFUL FINDING THIS WEB SITE, I'M 45 MALE WHO HAS BEEN LIVING WITH THIS ALL MY LIFE, IVE BEEN TO VERY LOW POINTS AND NOW I'M RIDING HIGH FREE FROM MAJOR PAIN EPISODES. Help for my Studies

I have been living with sickle cell for many year in May this year i turned 21 years but i had never experienced the situation am in now am feeling body weakness. When i went to hospital for check up they made every test and they found that every thing was okay. I cannot write during lectures and i cannot also revise on my own yet we are heading to exams. So any who has ever experinced this situation help me

my daughter

Dear All,



I am fairly new to this site. I joined because i have a daughter with sickle cell. she is 10 months old and has had one crisis. It wasn't too severe, we were admitted for one night and she had some iv and antiobiotics given to her aswell as some pain killers.



I have been reading alot about the disease and i have come to realise that HYDRATION is the key (maybe not the key but certainly one of them). My problem is getting my little girl to drink the recommended amount… Continue
