    Oh hi.
My son has SS too. HE was diagnosed at birth by the blood test, two weeks after his birthday his pediatrician call me to give the news... I felt the word falling on my head and after I met the pediatric/hematologist all my feelings got worse. I felt failed and miserable. After while I just start to read lot of scientific works about SCD and now despite its makes me worry about my baby I feel confident and strong to keep the faith.
The only thing I advise you is do not just accept that you child have one disease and treat or let anybody treat her different. I think that despite anything we goes trough God gave us a special child and with a special mission on this world.
Just love her and take care of her. And if you can, breast milk is the best food for you baby.
My son now is 12 mo old and we are doing just fine. We try to give him lots of health food and sometimes when it's impossible we give him some juice supplements to keep him health.
    Take care
