How has your son been doing? Has he had any symptoms or crises? My daughter was diagnosed at birth and will be one next week. She has been symptom and crises free thus far and I am doing as much research and networking as much as possible so that we are educated.

Thank God they have all been good. What made you decide to give them Nicosan? Does the hematologist know and agree with your decision? My daughter sees a hematologist in Orlando, Fl, her next visit is in February and I intend to raise the issue of Nicosan with him. My suspicion is that he will not know about it. I have done quite a lot of research here in Trinidad and nobody seems to know about the existance of Nicosan, so my plan is to get as much information as possible and share it with the sickle cell population here.

Please let me know what their hematologist says, I am seriously considering doing the same and giving my daughter the Nicosan, but I will wait until she is about 2 years old.
