How has living with sickle cell made an impact on your life?

Living with sickle cell has it ups and downs. The major effect that this disease has on my life is in the realm of socilaization. I'm socially challenged but on the upside of this i dont abuse drugs and i dont drink socially and i live a healthy lifestyle as compared to some people in my age bracket in the culture i live in. Sometimes i feel like a misfit bit that it reminds me daily that i'm a unique individual.
