DESCRIPTION:A Project Extension for Community Health Care Outcomes (EC
 HO) training will be held on Monday, October 23-Tuesday, October 24, 2
 017 in Atlanta, GA. The training will be led by the American Academy o
 f Pediatrics, a Project ECHO Superhub and will be designed specificall
 y for organizations interested in using the ECHO model in their own se
 ttings to improve the health care of individuals living with sickle ce
 ll disease (SCD). The ECHO model increases access to specialty treatme
 nt in rural and undeserved areas by building capacity amongst front-li
 ne physicians to identify, treat, and manage the care of patients with
  complex conditions.\r\n \r\nThe training provides the following: \r\
 n\r\nOverview of the ECHO model and the importance of following the pr
 otocol in achieving success  \r\nOverview of key skills and requireme
 nts needed to properly use model\r\nFramework needed to develop a tele
 ECHO (virtual) clinic for patients with SCD\r\nInformation about using
  the ECHO model to develop a state-wide surveillance  (health monito
 ring system)\r\nPresentations from groups who have already used the EC
 HO model to improve care of patients with SCD  \r\nOpportunity to net
 work with the other training session attendees\r\n\r\nAttendance is fr
