DESCRIPTION:Dr. Coates is the section head of Hematology in the divisi
 on of Hematology Oncology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and the 
 University of Southern California.  His interests are sickle cell dis
 ease, thalassemia, disorders of neutrophil function, and iron overload
  in children and adults. His research employs various engineering-int
 ensive methodologies to explore the basic mechanisms of sickle cell di
 sease using direct measures of microvascular blood flow and autonomic 
 nervous system function. \r\n\r\n\r\n\r\nThis webinar is part of a ser
