Event Description

Dr. Coates is the section head of Hematology in the division of Hematology Oncology at Children's Hospital Los Angeles, and the University of Southern California.  His interests are sickle cell disease, thalassemia, disorders of neutrophil function, and iron overload in children and adults. His research employs various engineering-intensive methodologies to explore the basic mechanisms of sickle cell disease using direct measures of microvascular blood flow and autonomic nervous system function.
This webinar is part of a series of quarterly webinars featuring experts in sickle cell disease and updates on this project.
